This is really cool. Piped that you can have quiet and loud. My motorcycle has Vance and Hines longshots. Great loud pipes for around town, but absolutely horrible for long trips. I can’t listen to head phones.

This is a cool idea. I don’t think that I’ll change my pipes but if my pipes were stock. I’d definitely check into it.

So Elvis Motorcycle Jacket is up for Sale

For all of you lovers of Pop culture, On June 25, 2008 Christie’s will be holding its Pop Culture sale at the Rockefeller Plaza offices in New York City

“The Marilyn Monroes, the James Deans will always be popular, even 50 years later,” says Simeon Lipman, Christie’s pop culture specialist.

But in particular for the motorcycle and music enthusiast will be the motorcycle jacket worn by Elvis. I am just curious as to how much it will fetch at auction. We all know who Elvis Presley is, but a little info. “The King”, “The King of Rock and Roll” Memphis TN, Graceland. Yeah, him.

The public can view the items Saturday and Monday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Sunday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., and Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Bidding begins Wednesday at 10 a.m. Christie’s is at 20 Rockefeller Plaza, on 49th Street between Fifth and Sixth avenues.

This is the Weekend that thousands of bike descend upon Austin Texas Republic of Texas ROT Rally. This is right smack in the Center of the the United States. So you don’t have to drive 3000 miles to get there. The meeting place is the State Fair ground and clothing is optional. Once you pay to get in. It’s a huge private party. Believe me most people should wear clothes…

If you want to have a great time in Austin you can go there too. Parking is block off for bikes and you can walk around on 6th street. The whole city is catering to the bikes. Also Austin is just a great place to visit. It has lots of great food no matter where you go. And don’t miss out riding in the hill country. You won’t be disappointed.

Well, you have to love an icon of the motorcycle, The Triumph Bonneville. I really didn’t know that much about the Triumph, but my second bike was a 1998 Triumph T-595. I wanted a Sport bike so bad. The T-595 had a great look but never made a dent in the racing circuit.

But enough about that, the icon is the Triumph Bonneville. The are two bikes that make the best choppers are made out of the Triumph Bonneville and the Harley Davidson Sportster.

Talk with anybody that has ridden bikes for many years and they will talk about the triumph with a sparkle in their eye. Then they will tell you had poorly made the bike was and it’s amazing that the company is in business today. But don’t compare todays Triumph quality to that of years ago. Jay Leno has a great collection of bikes and one of them is, of course, the Triumph Bonneville

Really cool GSXR 750 video

This video is a chronological pictorial using morphing through the 1985 GSXR 750 to the 2007 GSXR 750 or the Gixxer 750.

The one thing that I have discovered about motorcycles is that people are very loyal to their brands in a very nostalgic way. People don’t seem to hate another brand, but they will say, “I love Hondas.” or “I love Kawasakis”, in this case, “I love Suzukis.”

What I always find curious is how did the bike go from one look ten or fifteen years ago to the look that it has now. It’s like watch a baby grow into an adult. To watch technologies and thinking change. Just a little bit each year with major jumps occasionally. I guess you could call it the Dawinism of the Suzuki GSXR 750.

For 2008 Harley Davidson released three new models for sale. One of them being the The Rocker.

The whole bike, The Rocker, is designed around the tail. There is no passenger seat, because the fender is attached to the swing arm, not the frame

This is a very nostalgic look. Think of the hard tail with the big seat on springs from the old bikes. This is and inspired old skool look…

But wait, there is a secret passenger seat. If you lift up the seat you will find the passenger seat. Just open it up and attach the cushion. Easily you get the best of both worlds, a cool single seat bike and if you meet someone you like. An easy to install Passenger seat.

There are also a couple of other features, no brake light. Who needs a brake light anyway. and a fat 240 tire.
